Seasonal ResourcesWALL, THE
VT2458
Based on the play by Richard Lauchman. This video is a suggestion of what may have happened, in the hours leading up to their crucifixion, to the tow thieves who were crucified on either side of Jesus Christ. Isn't it true that both thieves respresent us at times? - one looks for a way out that does not include Jesus, and the other, in desperation, asks for Jesus' help. Hanging between life and death, the two thieves face a moment of choice and commitment, and a moment of conversion. Summary: In the early hours of Good Friday morning two theives, awaiting their crucifixion, agonize in a lonely prison cell. As the stars go out one by one, these two men grapple with fear about their impending death. Through a small hole in the stone cell wall, they can glimpse another prisoner who will be crucified with them. Together they argue about who this man is, and wonder if he has the power to save their souls. The study guide covers six weeks of materials. Each week has a topic, a few thoughts on that topic, and then scripture references and questions: Week 1: Introduction (watching whole video and discussing your initial impressions); Week 2: Conversion; Week 3: Fear; Week 4: Doubt; Week 5: Faith; Week 6:God's Saving Arm of Mercy. 40min 1999 Church Use Permitted GOOD TREE, A
