First seen in February 1987 on the UMC's national television program, "Catch the Spirit," this two-part program focuses on the medical aspects of AIDS (how it is contracted; how it can be prevented), biblical, theological, and moral dimensions of the issue, and how the church can be in ministry with those affected with AIDS.

An extensive leader's guide has been designed to help your local church become involved in AIDS Ministries and to encourage your local church to work with others for AIDS prevention education in the community. Every congregation can do something, whether it is located in a small town or a large city. The video helps to focus on five major concerns: 1) AIDS: Facts and Figures; 2) Dealing with the Fear of AIDS; 3) Making a Covenant to Care; 4) Developing AIDS ministries; 5) Enabling AIDS Prevention Education.

2. Children of Africa - Explore the issues and challenges that face the children of this diverse continent. Learn about the factors that affect their future; healthcare, malnutrition, AIDS, and armed conflicts that have conscripted children as soldiers. With all these challenges, new solutions are needed and are being pioneered by the United Methodist Church in Africa.
3. God's People in an Urban Culture - Urban culture is not just in the cities anymore. Many of the trends and mind sets of the big city have spread throughout all of society. Rural areas are now faced with rapid growth, cultural diversity and new neighbors. This segment explores some of the issues we face as God's people in this changing landscape.

1. Texas Annual Conference: a conference-wide approach to understanding and serving the need of the homeless.
2. New Jersey: Palisades Park UMC: a growing new congregation serving the needs of an immigrant Korean- American community trying to adjust to life in the United States.
