This documentary explores how faith groups and others are working to bring decent, affordable housing for all. Viewers will meet families struggling with housing issues, see innovative and effective solutions, learn how children benefit from better housing and see the importance of working together across political and religious divides. Also included are bonus features such as personal stories and churches working on housing issues.
Children sing in the background to clips of children in the United States and around the world. American children tell what poverty does to them. Adults share what it means to work with the children. Garlinda Burton, editor of "Interpreter Magazine", hosts the short program that includes the song "Prayer of the Children."
Meet Ron and Mabel: a homeless couple living in a shack beneath an interstate highway bridge in a sizeable city. They collect aluminum cans to sell for cash. This engaging middle-aged pair represents thousands of homeless people across America - at the very edges of society, yet managing to hold onto pride and dignity. You'll find their story touching, disturbing, revealing, provocative, and poignant. You'll have some stereo-types broken...because Ron and Mabel are not very different from you and me.

The Church World Service Fund is working with the street children of Brazil. Street children and youth of São Bernardo do Campo near São Paolo, Brazil, describe their lives, dreams, desperation, and brave hopes.
