The Earth Summit was the largest gathering of world leaders and non-government people who had one common concern - to preserve the planet. The ‘Earth Summit’ was held in Rio de Janeiro in 1992 under the auspices of UN non-government agencies (NGO’s) to look at ways to save the planet from environmental and social catastrophe: the problems of the disparities between North and South, consumerism, overpopulation, bio-diversity, and global warming. A look at the role of the churches and the global community working together on a specific issue.

This video is an introductory video on the link between energy use and global warming. The video explains why carbon dioxide emissions from the burning of fossil fuels are believed to be the principal cause of global warming. It illustrates the greenhouse effect, summarizes some of the potential consequences of global warming, and examines various forms of energy production and consumption. It concludes with an overview of how improved energy efficiency and the development of renewable energy sources can prevent global warming.

As obvious as it sounds, climate change affects everybody.
But climate change is already having a disproportionate impact on people in developing countries, and it's hitting women hardest.
