This training series was created out of an adult learning confernce held in Dallas, Texas. The three speakers, James Botkin, Tom Groome, and Dick Murray spoke from the perspectives of the world, the church at large, and the local congregation. This training series is designed to help adult educators understand the current challenges to adults who want to learn how to keep up with the changing world. It offers practical ways that local churches can work more effectively with adults. A leader's guide suggests how these resources can be used in training events to develop leadership skills for adult education in the church.

The 12-week structure of this study is based on two complementary teachings of Jesus: 1. Come and See (6 weeks)
The group will use Scripture, videos, study & reflection guide, and leader guide to experience, discuss, and meditate on the Christian model of attentiveness. 2. Go and Do (6 weeks)
Together, supported by the leader guide, the group will create and implement an action plan for applying and embodying attentiveness in their own lives.
Topics include: Listening to the Right Voices; Keeping Time; Self-Awareness; Listening Alone, Listening Together.
This video concerns the challenge of the Christian community to be an extended family - binding young and old together and passing on the legacy of faith. It stimulates discussion and is ideal for groups wanting to build intergenerational bridges of understanding.
Four major topics are: Boredom, pop culture, sexuality, and drugs. Features Tony Campolo, Bob "Captain
Kangaroo" Keeshan, Tipper Gore, Terry Hershey, Will Campbell, and five well-known Christian musicians.
Edited by Iva E. Carruthers, Frederick D. Haynes III, and Jeremiah A. Wright Jr.
This volume's contributors--dynamic and progressive African American church leaders--advocate the prophetic powers of black theology, preaching, and evangelism in support of community and economic development, ministerial and lay leadership, and enhancement of church life. All of them were presenters in 2004 at the first Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference, established to reinvigorate the social justice agenda of America's black churches.
Hosted by Charles (Chuck) Colson, this video examines what the church is and is not - and what that means for Christians in this post modern society.
This curriculum provides you with two study options.
Option #1 is designed for a 3 session series using the three video presentations. Option #2 incorporates the 3 video presentations into a 13 week study of the reproducible worksheets.
