This video tells the traditional story of the birth of Jesus, beginning with Mary and Joseph's trip from Nazareth to Bethlehem. We witness their encounter with the innkeeper who "has no room for them," but provides shelter in a stable where Mary gives birth. We see the announcement to the shepherds and follow the Magi who trek across the desert guided by the mysterious star. Narrated by Christopher Plummer this video offers a new way to recapture the meaning and mystery of the Christmas story.

The teaching plans are based on 12 one-hour sessions, and contain six hours of video viewing. Most sessions provide a balance between 30 minutes of video viewing and 30 minutes of introduction/ discussion/ application.

While this resource does not contain a study guide, it does provide interesting information about when the first crèches came about and how they evolved over the centuries. It will prompt viewers to ask questions of their own and/or discuss crèches they have seen or used in their own homes.
