ORDINARY FIR TREE, THE

VT2370
This video program, with subtitle of "all things work out for the good," teaches children to face the future with confidence and optimism, even in the face of temporary setbacks. The Ordinary Fir Tree is growing up next to another tree which is taller and fuller that he is. Yet, he has a great wish to be fine and tall enough to be used as Christmas tree. One day men come into the forest and cut some trees down to take to the shopping center. Being left alone in the shopping center after all the trees were purchased, he is taken to a house where the family already has a Christmas tree. The little tree is so disappointed. But to his surprise, he is made into a beautiful wreath and is hung high on the house to offer cheer to all who pass by. Written by James Haas and illustrated by Maryanne Meyer.
