M.A.R.C (Michigan Area Resource Center) is an audio-visual and music lending library that is open to all United Methodist churches and affiliated agencies in Michigan. Its purpose is to best serve local churches and agencies for their ministries by providing useful resources.

Our Resources

Resources are available on a borrowing basis, similar to any library. We offer over 3300 video titles and 700 sheet music titles with other media resources for all ages on various subjects. All videos are licensed for church use unless otherwise indicated.

How to Order

You may order via website, phone (888-217-1905; 616-459-4503), fax (616-459-0191), email (marc@wmcumc.org)or mail (11 Fuller Ave. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506). You can reserve resources up to one year and at least ten days in advance of a scheduled showing date to allow time to process and ship your order. You need the following information in order to order: Title & Resource ID number, Date to be shown, Date to be returned, Church & User names, Shipping address, Daytime phone number or email address.

Checking out Resources

You must check-out resources under the name of your church/charge and are responsible for the timely return and any damage or loss of the resource. It is our policy to check out up to 5 videos for a person and up to 15 videos under the same church/charge at a time.

Pick-up & Shipping

Orders are shipped by USPS Media Rate. Special shipping may be arranged upon request, however, additional shipping charges are the responsibility of the user. Resources may be picked up during business hours.

Returning Resources

Churches pay the return postage. A self-addressed "Media Rate" return label is included in every shipment. Resources must be mailed to the resource center on the first day following the final showing. Resources may be returned in person or dropped at the Drop Box located at the front door of the building.

Damaged Resource

Each user will be responsible for proper use of resources and reporting any difficulties experienced or damages incurred during use. When damage occurs, the user will be charged the actual replacement costs. In case of minor damage, user may not be charged at the discretion of the director. MARC is not responsible for damage that may occur to equipment in the playing of library videos.

Newsletters

We publishe newsletter (MARC News) eight times a year and mail a copy to each UM church in Michigan and any individual who wishes to receive it. Newly purchased and acquired resources are highlighted in each issue.

Catalog

Our on-line catalog displays real-time updates on newly acquired resources. Because of high cost of publication and shipping & handling, printed catalog is no longer available.
